"The 11th ARS was an orphan SAC squadron which flew KC-135s on global refueling missions out of Altus, OK from 1969 until 1992 when it transferred to AMC and then AETC to support the co-located 97th AMW which trained C-141 and C-5 crews.
Pretty sure this is from the SAC ACE period when detached T-37s from the 47th FTW were used for KC-135 crew training at several bases as an economy measure."

Squadrons: 427th, 429st, 431st, 622nd AREFS and 4505th CAMS

Orignially the TAC ARSs were equipped with KB-29Ps but these were to slow and the squadrons were
re-equipped with KB-50s and re-organized into the 4504th ARW in 1958.
The 4504th ARW was the only KB-50 Wing and the only ARW in Tactical Air Command
